I just had my permanent tooth number 5 pulled out today. It is the first tooth to be pulled out. And later I will have my wisdom teeth pulled out too (in more than a year from now probably). Will that cause my teeth to spread out?
Tooth pulled out, would other teeth spread out?
Not with the wisdom teeth because the teeth tend to move forward in the mouth, but with #5, the space will be closed becasue the teeth will move towards it from behind. The opposing tooth below will also super-erupt (or raise) into the space.

Reply:I believe teeth do spread out if teeth are missing, but I also think there are things that can be done about, so ask your dentist.
