Aside from your poor penmanship, yes, it is normal.

Not fun, but normal.
Reply:yes it is

dont wory about it, your mouth is supposed to feel like that if you just got permanent braces.
Reply:The first time you get your braces on your teeth will be very sore for about a week. You will want to eating very soft food. The less chewing you do the better. Every 6-8 weeks you will go back in for adjustments, your teeth will only be sore for about a day or two. Rubber bands help with the movement of your teeth. Please wear them as the doctor instructs you to do. If you do not wear the rubber bands it will take ALOT longer to achieve the results you want. I am a Registered Dental Assistant and I had braces for 2 years. The small amount of pain is well worth the award of a beautiful smile. And please brush and FLOSS them daily. You would hate to have been in braces for a few years just to go back to the dentist for fillings.
