Why is one of my permanent tooth not erupting?

The baby tooth fell YEARS ago at least 1 to 2 years ago and the adult tooth is still not coming out. Its definitely there, you can see a little white tip (not out of the gum just barely below it) but it just wont come out, is there anything I can do to promote it or make it come out?

PS: My younger sis (whos almost my clone but in girl form) has the same tooth and its ALSO not coming out! Im 15 and shes 13 we are both getting braces this june

I also have a loose baby canine tooth (the last baby tooth) should I save my orthodontist the trouble this june and move it 5 minutes every night till it comes out? (my dentist told me to do this about a year ago but I never bothered)

Why is one of my permanent tooth not erupting?
The tooth might be slightly blocked out by the adjacent teeth. It would take an x-ray to find out if this is the case.
Reply:your dentist could cut the skin so your new tooth can grow in

if you don't lossen the baby tooth the dentist will have to pull it when you get your braces=extra money in his pocket
Reply:omw! i have this same problem! im 13 and my two top canines are not growing through. I can feel them and see them under the gum and i had to have my baby teeth removed to help encourage them to come through. I am getting braces in june as well and i don't think i can get them until my teeth grow through!
