I had a baby tooth extracted yesterday afternoon, and was told not to smoke or drink through a straw for forty eight hours. The baby tooth had no permanent tooth underneath it, so am I able to drink alchol tonight? which would be at about 30 hours after extraction?
Can dry socket happen when u have a baby tooth pulled and no permanent under neath?
Having a drink shouldn%26#039;t be an issue. A dry socket happens when the blood clot that forms in the socket is dislodged (spitting or using a straw can do that) or the clot is broken down (cig smoke breaks down the clot).

Bit fork and now a loose permanent tooth!?
Yea, so I was eating a waffle, and bit on the fork. I know, I%26#039;m dumb. But it%26#039;s a permanent tooth and I%26#039;m not sure what to do. Will it grow back to normal or what? My friend told me to drink a lot of milk and yea that would probably help but can I get some answers on what to do? I just don%26#039;t want to have to get a fake tooth.

Once the tooth is broken, it will not %26quot;grow back%26quot;. You should have found an emergency dental office to go to. They could have repaired the tooth. You may be able to get a veneer, but to make it look less noticeable, you may have to get more than one tooth done (probably need to get your 4 top teeth done). Go to a dentist ASAP.
Reply:You need to get to the dentist asap before you lose the tooth.
Reply:Generally a loose tooth will be OK in a few days-when you get your braces %26#039;tightened%26#039; it loosens the teeth and a few days later they are firmed up again.
I wouldn%26#039;t take the risk of not calling a dentist -A visit will be cheaper than wishing you had in the long run .
Reply:Hey
That happened to me also, but my tooth eventually went back to normal!
Just whatever you do, dont wiggle it!
It will just get more wiggley, and might fall out!
Just try to leave it alone, and it should get better!
If it doesnt, I sugjest you visit a dentist, and see what you can do to prevent it to get better!
Good Luck!

Reply:the WHOLE tooth? wow you must have been REALLY hungry!
no teeth don%26#039;t grow in any way, they just rot away
nows the time to pick out a blinging grill, (*silver looks like platinum)
Reply:Yes, it will tighten back up.....just don%26#039;t keep messing with it with your tongue or fingers. Also, try to avoid biting with it. Drinking milk or anything else isn%26#039;t going to help.

My daughter's central upper permanent tooth has not erupted yet and she is 7 1/2 years old.?
The primary tooth there was pulled out prematurely before, it being shed on it%26#039;s own. Could this be the cause for the permanent tooth to delay eruption? Thanks!
My daughter%26#039;s central upper permanent tooth has not erupted yet and she is 7 1/2 years old.?
This is indeed common but does not require the high cost of an Oral Surgeon. If your Dentist, and I am assuming he has a DDS Degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery) can%26#039;t do this simple procedure in 5 minutes or less, I would be looking another Dentist.
Reply:Hi! I%26#039;ve been in dentistry for over 25 years. I would call your dentist and get a referral for an Oral Surgeon. Have him take an xray and determine if this is just very slow or is %26quot;stuck%26quot;. It is easy enough to encourage the tooth to erupt and will require his expertize and surgery. This is NOT uncommon and I have had many cases of this. Typically I try to monitor this for a few months and see if there is any movement. If I feel it needs to be encouraged then I recommend an Oral Surgeon. At this age I would get a consultation and decide that is the best course of treatment. Remember, every child is different, but this is not a wait and see. Please get an expert%26#039;s advise and go from there. If you need any other help in the future, please ask. M

Is a loosen PERMANENT tooth preventable from falling?
if you have a loose permanent tooth, what are the ways how to make it tight again!????!!! Pleeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz, i need answers, i dont want to lose it. GOD BLESS!
Is a loosen PERMANENT tooth preventable from falling?
I had a loose tooth when I was younger and had it fixed at the dentist with a dental post. They put a rod in your tooth and jaw to prevent the tooth from falling out. A loose tooth will not regenerate unlike some other animals.
Unfortunately, the tooth may still die (turn grey/black) and you may need a root canal some years down the road.
I eventually lost my tooth permanently and ended up getting an implant that looks exactly like a real tooth. So after many years my loose tooth ended up falling out anyways.
Reply:I know how you feel....I lost one of mine this morning!!!!
I still have part in the gum...
Go see the dentist...that should give you a an idea.
Reply:depending on what you eat and check the dentist for some time
Reply:umm, there isn%26#039;t really a way for it to not be loose, being loose means that the surrounding gum has become loose, which could be due to a number of things (not brushing the gum line being one in which case you accumulate plaque under the gum line which causes the looses tooth - use a sonicare, it uses ultrasound waves to get under the gum line)
So really if the gum isn%26#039;t holding then the tooth will fall out.
You could get a Maryland bridge across it, buuut the tooth will die from the inside and turn that weird grey colour, then you get that bleached and filled (the inside, not the outer surface)....but for that cost, you may as well get an implant or depending on which tooth it is...a partial denture plate, or a bridge with a porcelain tooth.
hope that is of at least some help to you.

My friend is so self-conscious about a little gap in her front teeth. Is there a permanent way to fix it?
I think she is going through major drama and I need to tell her an educated answer.

Braces.
Reply:Braces will take the longest time. Caps will take a week. Both are expensive. Braces do the least damage. Overlays will need to be done again in 15 years. I%26#039;d go with the braces. If it%26#039;s any consolation, I really like a gap in the front teeth, but that%26#039;s just me.
Reply:Sometimes simple bonding may help, she should ask her dentist about it.
Reply:bonding is quick painless and affordable. it takes all of ten min and its done plus it has no pain like braces and no after treatment like caping. the best way to go is bonding.
Reply:Until she can get the other suggestions done, tell her that a gap was considered the mark of Venus long ago (Chaucer%26#039;s Canterbury Tales). Tell her too to look at pictures of Madonna who has a huge gap.

That is like asking us how long it will take for you hair to grow out to a certain length? How in the heck are we suppose to know? Ask your dentist. They can take an xray. We are not mind readers here.
